Augmedics’ xvision Spine System is a groundbreaking augmented reality (AR) surgical navigation device designed to enhance precision, safety, and efficiency in spine surgeries. Traditional surgical navigation systems require surgeons to constantly look away from the patient to reference external monitors, which can interrupt the flow of the procedure. Xvision solves this problem by displaying a real-time 3D visualization of the patient’s spinal anatomy directly within the surgeon’s field of view, as if they had “x-ray vision.” This is made possible through a specialized near-eye display headset, which projects essential navigation data onto the surgeon’s retina, eliminating the need to shift focus between the surgical site and external screens. By integrating AR technology seamlessly into the surgical workflow, xvision aims to improve surgical accuracy and reduce potential complications. The system enables more precise implant placement, minimizes errors, and enhances the surgeon’s ability to navigate complex anatomical structures with confidence. Additionally, xvision helps reduce radiation exposure for both patients and the surgical team by decreasing reliance on intraoperative fluoroscopy. Through this innovative approach, Augmedics is revolutionizing spine surgery, empowering surgeons with an advanced tool that enhances both performance and patient outcomes.
