Purpose
TIMELAPSE is an innovative project developed by the Università degli Studi di Milano (University of Milan) aimed at enhancing the chemotherapy experience through Virtual Reality (VR). The time required by each chemotherapy session cannot yet be reduced objectively. However, this difficulty can be circumvented by acting on how time is perceived subjectively, which is what TIMELAPSE proposes to achieve using a dedicated VR application. Containing these side effects is key to promote the patient’s mental well-being, which in turn would encourage and increase adherence to the treatment.
Where We See Impact
By integrating VR into chemotherapy sessions, TIMELAPSE seeks to improve patient well-being, reduce anxiety, and enhance overall treatment experiences. The project's approach may contribute to better patient compliance and outcomes.
