Purpose

Emteq Labs has developed Sense, an innovative pair of emotion-sensing smart glasses designed to monitor and analyze the wearer's facial expressions, emotional states, and eating habits in real-time. Utilizing proprietary OCO™ (Optomyography) sensors, Sense glasses detect subtle facial muscle activations around the eyes, eyebrows, cheeks, and jaw. This allows for precise mapping of three-dimensional facial movements, enabling the identification of emotions such as joy, sadness, or surprise. The glasses can also log food consumption by capturing images of meals. This information is securely transferred to the accompanying Sense app and cloud platform, where users have full control over their data and can choose to share it with researchers, trainers, coaches, or clinicians upon consent.

Where We See Impact

Their mission is to create technology that reduces friction and increases human happiness. In healthcare, they can assist in mental health monitoring by detecting emotional shifts, supporting individuals with conditions like depression or anxiety.
